Hi, have some crack! Oh, I argued with myself about this one -- I got the idea way back whenever while watching the S1 finale and was all: TOO CRACKY, SELF (and also? u r drunk). But then later (soberly) on, I kept thinking of ways in which it was undeniably true and I caved. Though then I was delayed by various real life stuff (already chronicled here to some degree, so let's not delve again) and it took longer than it should have. What really kept me on board beyond the crack aspects are the darker parts of the song (Elphaba's vision, which is quite true in a twisted way...this works for Alex as well) and how they tie into A2A. The song is cut and restructured significantly and I even got to play with vocal extraction in order to create the few seconds of intro that open the vid (which are actually not instrumental in the song). Oh that was totally fabulous!!! What a cool idea, he! The Gene Genie is a Wizard LOLOL You really merged the clips so nicely with each other and then with the music and lyrics on top. Awesome! I am going to keep :)

Thanks very much for the nice words! LoM had more Wizard of Oz references than A2A (they went the Narnia route), but the idea *seemed* to make sense, in the way that crack does :)

Thank you!! You'll have to erase your memory of the vid when you watch A2A (and you have to -- remember, 80s music like Vienna!) because it's ever so spoilery. And that's too funny that you got the Wicked soundtrack today! You can hear how I butchered the song (I mean, I *had* to because there are references to her being green and stuff, which doesn't work so well for A2A). And I can't wait to be annoying together when we go see Wicked and are singing along with everything :)

And though it was simpler to just call it crack...don't tell a soul, but I'm entirely SRS about the whole second half of the vid. I love Alex's emo and this had to mean something, even if there was a candy crack coating.

This is simply phenomenal. It's lyrical and lovely, and perfectly juxtaposes the light touches of humor from the song with the darker edge of the show. Your editing is always a revelation, and this is just out of this world superb.

Brilliant. And ooooooh yes, it does mean something..under it's 'candy crack coating.' I absolutely love love love this. God, you clever lady you. I wanna be Alex..and be with my Gene Hunt Wizard. I love this *so* hard. :D It's so sneaky getting under your skin with it's shiny-candy musical sound, and then before you know it, it's being all insightful and serious right along with those candy vocals. The juxtaposition is just so much fun to watch! And it doesn't hurt that it's visually gorgeous as well. ;}
